Our unsustainable global food system has become one of the greatest threats we face. The AI windfall presents an unprecedented opportunity to reshape the future of animal philanthropy. This comes at a time when the broken food system is accelerating climate change, biodiversity collapse, and public health threats, and leading to exploitation of a growing number of farmed animals, marine life, and invertebrates.

What should success in animal philanthropy actually be measured by? This report argues that the central metric of animal philanthropy should shift from cage-free campaigns and tech welfare to plant-based campaigns which reduce the total number of animals bred into the food system.
